Full Job Description Requirements:
The Designer will work onsite under limited supervision to prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter, correctly applying the
ASME Y14.5-M-1994
(or higher) GD&T standard. This work will be done to support projects within Client-TD (PIP-II, LCLS-II, LCLS-II HE, Accelerator Support, LHC
AUP, SRF, SC
Magnets). The work will be done using Design/Drafting procedures, working to meet project schedules and other requirements, and will include working directly with the engineering staff working on the projects to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select design components and materials.
Deliverables:
Design tolerance and stack up calculations, layout designs, detailing, advanced level 3D models, and 2D drawings required for the project.
Deliverable Format and Quantity:
3D models and 2D drawings are completed in NX1980, managed in Teamcenter. Quantity will be directed by Fermilab for each task.
Quality Assurance:
Work shall be performed in accordance with the Fermilab QAM and Client-TD and Design/Drafting Procedures. All work will be reviewed, checked, and approved by Fermilab staff responsible for the specific task.
Pre-requirements:
Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in
NX1980 CAD
via an interview through the ZOOM meeting portal. A minimum of a 5 years of experience as Designer. Ability to deliver a quality work product to deadline-driven projects.
