Job Description:
T&M Equipment is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can design, build, and support electrical systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, works well with others, and is comfortable both in the shop and out in the field. Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience in electrical design or a related field Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software Experience with PLC programming preferred Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Self-motivated with a strong work ethic Willingness to work days and occasional weekends as needed Key Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD Design and specify electrical components, including cabling systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and radio controls Source and procure electrical components to support project needs Assemble and wire control panels, push-button stations, and configure/program radio systems Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing timely support for service calls Provide guidance and technical support to shop electricians during fabrication and installation Conduct site visits to evaluate projects, support installations, and ensure design accuracy Develop and implement Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming for system automation Design and troubleshoot specialized circuits, including tandem, synchronization, and anti-sway systems Prepare accurate and comprehensive bills of materials (BOM) for all projects
