Designer Location:
Georgetown, KY Job Type:
Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a CAD/CAM Designer to support CNC machining operations within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong 3D CAD modeling experience and a solid understanding of manufacturing drawings. CAM experience is preferred but not required — the hiring manager is willing to train motivated candidates on the CAM and CNC programming side . This role is an excellent opportunity for designers looking to expand their skillset into CAM and CNC programming while working with modern manufacturing equipment. Key Responsibilities Create and modify 3D CAD models to support machining and production needs Generate CNC programs using CAM software ( training provided if needed ) Monitor, document, and control changes made to CNC machines and programs Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routings, manuals, and specifications Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and manufacturing teams to optimize designs and tooling Ensure accuracy, quality, and manufacturability of parts Required Skills & Qualifications Strong 3D modeling experience using CAD software Ability to read and interpret 2D prints and technical drawings Familiarity with manufacturing or machining concepts (milling, tooling, CNC preferred) Willingness to learn CAM programming and CNC processes Education /
Experience:
Associate's degree in CAD or related field OR 2-5 years of equivalent hands-on experience in drafting, design, or manufacturing support 📌
Portfolio Requirement:
Candidates must provide examples of 3D models they have created Preferred (Not Required) Skills Experience with CAM software such as WorkNC, Mastercam, NX, or similar CNC machining or programming experience Fluency in G-Code Knowledge of NX or CATIA Prior experience in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with automotive parts Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills Why Join Us?
