Job Description

Job Title:
CAD Tech Job Description We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to work with custom programs to create detailed drawings and, when necessary, bills of material for the manufacture and installation of our products. The role involves reviewing design information, site plans, and manuals to determine critical dimensions and performing calculations necessary for creating fabrication drawings. Daily tasks will include utilizing applications such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Excel to meet project deadlines and producing accurate drawings for review and approval by design staff. Responsibilities Work with custom programs to create detailed drawings and bills of material. Review design information, site plans, and manuals to determine design dimensions. Perform calculations to produce design information for fabrication drawings. Utilize applications such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Excel daily. Confer with design staff to determine design requirements and modifications. Efficiently produce accurate drawings for review and approval. Prioritize assigned projects based on due dates. Coordinate with team members to accomplish tasks. Submit and review drawings with peers before design staff review. Develop and maintain standard and custom details for all product families. Complete quality documentation as necessary. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel. Drafting skills and experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals. Critical thinking and quality analysis skills. Experience with applications such as Inventor and Solidworks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in design, construction documents, and architectural drawings. Mechanical design and CAD experience. Knowledge of civil 3D, blueprint reading, and fabrication. Ability to accurately read and interpret site plans. Understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in engineering. Work Environment The work environment is a small, family-like setting within a manufacturer of construction products such as corrugated piping. This is a job shop setting, focusing on custom orders rather than production, requiring a strong work ethic to meet deadlines. The production floor is not temperature controlled, resulting in hot summer and cold winter conditions. The role involves 80% desk work and 20% on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winchester, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
