Engineering ManagerPOSITION
3D Mechanical Designer Summary:
We are seeking an experienced 3D Designer with strong expertise in AutoCAD Plant 3D and Advanced Steel to support engineering and design activities within the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of process equipment, piping systems, and structural design, and will be responsible for developing detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for complex industrial projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D models using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Advanced Steel for process equipment, piping layouts, and structural components.
- Produce accurate 2D drawings, isometrics, general arrangements (GA), and fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Interpret P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and engineering standards to create constructible models.
- Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts within multidisciplinary models.
- Generate material take-offs (MTOs) and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Support design reviews, model walkthroughs, and project meetings.
- Revise and update models/drawings based on feedback and field changes.
- Maintain proper documentation and file management in accordance with company standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in 3D design within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D and Advanced Steel (required).
- Strong knowledge of process equipment design, piping systems, and structural steel.
- Experience working with P&IDs and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
- Ability to perform clash detection and model coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Design, Drafting, or related field.
- Experience with additional 3D modeling tools (e.g., Navisworks, Revit, or similar).
- Field experience or exposure to fabrication and construction environments.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role with periodic travel to fabrication shops and field sites.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external clients/vendors.
