Job Description
Manufacturing design role focused on translating customer drawings into fabrication processes, CAD layouts, production packages, and material requirements. Job Requirements 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication Ability to read and interpret customer drawings Ability to read and interpret CAD files Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication Hands-on experience with plate fabrication Experience with forming Experience with bend allowances Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar software Preferred Skills SolidWorks experience SMP experience Merry Mech experience AutoCAD experience Experience creating CAD drawings and models Experience designing layouts for frequent product changeovers Experience compiling fabrication packages Experience generating material requisitions Experience coordinating with purchasing Experience maintaining layout documentation Experience creating material lists with cost details Job Responsibilities Translate customer drawings into manufacturing processes Support fabrication from concept through production Review customer drawings for operational requirements Coordinate with production, engineering, and project management teams Create CAD drawings and models using SolidWorks, SMP, Merry Mech, AutoCAD, or similar software Design layouts for varied products and frequent changeovers Recommend process and layout improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs Compile fabrication packages, including material layouts, assembly details, and equipment programming Generate material requisitions Coordinate purchasing activities, including direct purchasing when required Maintain organized layout documentation in department file systems Provide updated material lists with cost details to the job shop administrator
