Full Job Description Design Engineer Description:

Three-M Tool & Machine is seeking a Design Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Commerce Twp, MI. We are a family owned and operated business since 1990 that provides engineered workholding solutions to today's difficult manufacturing challenges with our Ultra Grip product line. Our engineered products provide the accuracy and repeatability demanded by parts with tight tolerances and complex features. Skills:

• Ability to read and understand a technical drawing.
• Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD.
• Solidworks Simulation (FEA Analysis) knowledge preferred but not required.
• ApplyGeometrical Design and Tolerancing (GD&T) techniques to 2D drawings
• Basic understanding of manufacturing process such as turning, milling, and grinding preferred but not required.
• Workholding experience preferred but not required.
• Basic material property knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-Motivated who can work independently.
• Collaborative team member that desires continuous learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating application driven design concepts and complete product designs in 2D and 3D for low-volume applications.
• Create layouts and detail drawings.
• Apply engineering principles to design, modify, or develop components.
• Ensure company policies, work rules, and processes are followed.
• Participate in design review process for design improvement and manufacturing simplification.
• Assist in problem-solving product function issues.
• Perform special tasks or be involved in special projects as required.
