MANUFACTURING DRAWINGS & BOM OWNERSHIP

This role owns product definition . The objective is to ensure what we build, what we buy, what we inspect, and what we ship are fully defined, controlled, and traceable. Most work is based on customer-supplied field drawings, legacy utility prints, and existing AF builds , translated into controlled internal documentation for repeatable production. Responsibilities Create 3D Models and 2D Drawings Convert customer drawings into AF-controlled manufacturing drawings Define pipe bending requirements on shop drawings: bend radius, bend angle, centerline length Make weld symbol callouts Generate drawings for structural and piping systems used in natural gas utility applications, including: Residential & Commercial Meter Sets, Rotary Meter Sets Regulator Stations, Pipe Fittings, Meter Brackets, Structural Steel Vaults & Culverts Create and maintain detailed Bills of Material (BOMs) tied directly to drawings Define pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, regulators, gaskets, hardware, and instrumentation with: Sizes, pressure ratings, and material standards Reference and apply customer gas material standards Maintain BOM and drawing revision control to keep purchasing and production aligned Support procurement through accurate BOM definition Qualifications Experience creating manufacturing or fabrication drawings Experience in process piping & fabrication industries Ability to interpret and apply weld symbols, joint details, and welding callouts on fabrication drawings to support shop production Proficiency with CAD software such as Fusion 360 Ability to interpret customer drawings, specifications, and standards and convert them into production-ready shop drawings Familiarity with Bills of Material (BOMs) and revision control practices Working knowledge of piping components such as pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and hardware Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain documentation accuracy Ability to communicate with production, purchasing, and quality teams to ensure drawings support real-world fabrication Why This Role Is Unique Work directly on real infrastructure projects used by major natural gas utilities across the midwest and soon to be nation Opportunity to join very fast growing manufacturing company and secure long term position Opportunity to build drawings that go into real field installations — not just conceptual design work High level of ownership and visibility; your work directly impacts production and customer deliveries Hands-on collaboration with manufacturing, supply chain, welding, and assembly teams Opportunity to grow into a senior technical role as the company expands Stable, long-term manufacturing environment with consistent work and growth Benefits we currently offer: Simple IRA & 2% Simple IRA matching 9 day paid vacation Health Insurance Major growth opportunity as we continue to grow Family environment and work culture
