Construction & Development Location:
St. Cloud, Minnesota (Central MN Region)
Position Purpose:
This role supports the successful planning, design, and execution of Sand Companies, Inc. construction and development projects in St. Cloud and Central Minnesota. The Architectural Drafter / REVIT Specialist is responsible for producing high-quality schematic, design development, and construction documents that accelerate project starts, improve cross-functional coordination, and drive efficiency across the development pipeline. This position plays a key role in supporting commercial, hospitality, and multi-site development projects throughout Central MN, partnering closely with internal teams, consultants, and local municipalities.

- Accurate, timely completion of architectural drawings aligned with company design standards
- Effective REVIT integration across construction and development workflows
- Strong coordination with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and municipal agencies in St. Cloud and surrounding Central Minnesota markets
- On-time project starts and successful execution of development milestones
Core Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting ( 50%)
- Produce schematic, design development, and construction documents for projects in St. Cloud and Central MN
- Translate architectural concepts into accurate, code-compliant drawings
- Support hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use development projects REVIT Integration & Process Improvement ( 20%)
- Lead adoption and optimization of REVIT modeling and documentation workflows
- Develop scalable processes that improve coordination between design and field teams Construction & Bid Phase Support ( 10%)
- Prepare sketches and resolve detailing issues during bidding and construction
- Provide drawing clarifications and revisions to field teams and subcontractors Consultant & Subcontractor Coordination ( 7%)
- Coordinate with engineers and design-build subcontractors across Central Minnesota projects
- Manage submittals, background updates, and design revisions Code Compliance & Calculations ( 5%)
- Perform building code calculations including occupancy, egress, and spatial requirements
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota building codes and local St. Cloud regulations Document Management ( 5%)
- Maintain organized CAD and REVIT file systems
- Ensure document version control and accessibility across teams Drawing Production & Distribution ( 3%)
- Manage drawing sets and distribution to stakeholders
- Support safe and efficient jobsite execution
Key Skills & Competencies:
Communication:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
Technical Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Office and project management tools
Organization & Time Management:
- Ability to manage multiple construction and development projects simultaneously
- Strong prioritization and deadline management skills
Problem Solving & Decision-Making:
- Ability to anticipate construction challenges and develop practical solutions
- Sound judgment in design and documentation decisions
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in Architectural Construction Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5+ years of architectural drafting or construction design experience
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting commercial, hospitality, or multi-family construction projects
- Strong knowledge of:
- Minnesota Building & Fire Codes
- ADA & Minnesota Accessibility requirements
- Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Energy Codes
- Local zoning and municipal requirements in St.
Cloud and Central MN Qualification Standards:
- Professional and collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to meet deadlines and work within project budgets
- Self-directed with minimal supervision
- Willingness to support team initiatives and contribute beyond core responsibilities
- Ability to work in varying jobsite conditions as needed

This full-time, non-exempt position offers an estimated pay range of $30
