Full-Time, Salary (Exempt) Position Summary Septagon Construction Company is seeking a Design Technician - Level 1 to support our Architectural Design & Drafting team. This role is responsible for preparing working plans, detailed drawings, and schematics using CAD software while supporting project teams with accurate and timely construction documentation. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit Apply standardized drafting techniques to produce accurate construction documents Assist in developing floor plans, wall sections, stair layouts, and supporting details Collaborate with architects, vendors, and project teams to gather project information Conduct field measurements and support document accuracy Maintain clear communication with team members regarding timelines and deliverables Continuously develop knowledge in CAD systems, construction methods, and materials Demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment Uphold Septagon's standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service Support safety and incident reporting procedures as required Qualifications High School Diploma required, plus one of the following: Associate's degree (or higher) in drafting or related field Minimum 2 years of commercial construction experience Equivalent combination of education and experience Skills & Competencies Basic knowledge of commercial construction methods and materials Familiarity with PEMB (Pre-Engineered Metal Building) systems preferred Strong proficiency or willingness to learn AutoCAD and Revit Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective communication and collaboration skills Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach Work Environment & Expectations Primarily office-based with occasional visits to construction job sites May require occasional evening or weekend work for project deadlines Must be dependable, punctual, and prepared for work daily Why Join Septagon?
