Job Description

CAD Operator A well-established industrial materials operation in the Flathead Valley is seeking CAD Operator to join its Kalispell team. The company is involved in the processing, handling, and distribution of metals and related materials that support construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects throughout the region. This role focuses on producing accurate drawings, layouts, and material plans used for both customer projects and internal production. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where precision and clear communication are essential to keeping projects on track.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Create and revise CAD drawings for steel products, layouts, and custom projects Interpret customer specifications, sketches, blueprints, and measurements Prepare detailed fabrication and production drawings for shop use Collaborate with sales, shop, and warehouse teams to ensure accuracy Assist with material takeoffs, estimating, and project updates as needed Maintain organized drawing files and ensure all plans meet company and customer standards
Qualifications:
Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD or similar drafting programs) preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong attention to detail with accurate math and measurement skills Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Steel, fabrication, construction, or manufacturing experience is a plus Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings Get in touch!
