Description Strong work ethic / go‑getter mentality (this is the #1 priority; past issues have been lack of drive) 100% production role - producing shop/fab drawings (no report writing or admin work) Experience with metalwork only - no glass Gutters, curtain walls, decorative/architectural metals Solid AutoCAD fundamentals required They do have templates from similar jobs but candidate must be able to build drawings from scratch when needed Rhino is a plus (trainable if not) EnRoute (CNC) experience is a plus (also trainable) Environment & workflow: Candidate will regularly interact with the shop floor to walk through drawings and answer questions Goal is to keep drafters on projects start‑to‑finish, but due to delays/pushbacks they may pivot to other jobs Drawings aim to be clean and accurate upfront, but candidate must be comfortable reading drawings, asking questions, and clarifying details when needed Minimal external coordination Skills Autocad, Drafting, metal fabrication, rhino Top Skills Details Autocad,Drafting,metal fabrication Additional Skills & Qualifications Does NOT want someone currently in architecture school (historically becomes a short‑term stepping stone) No Pool companies Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Patchogue, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
