Job Description

Help Wanted:
Entry-Level Architectural Millwork Drafter Mack Custom Woodworking is a high-end architectural millwork shop specializing in custom residential projects throughout New York City. We operate at the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering, creating detailed work for kitchens, libraries, bedrooms, wall paneling, and more. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level drafter to join our team. This role is for someone eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with our project managers and skilled craftsmen to translate complex architectural designs into precise, buildable shop drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Create accurate and detailed shop drawings from architectural and design plans using AutoCAD. Collaborate with project managers to understand design intent and solve logistical challenges. Prepare and manage drawing sets for submittal and production. Assist in creating cut lists and other fabrication documents. Learn and adapt to new CAD software as the company continues to grow and evolve.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. A degree or certification in drafting, architecture, or a related field is a plus. Strong attention to detail and an obsession with accuracy. A proactive and resourceful problem-solver who can handle multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to learn from experienced professionals.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary:
A competitive starting salary between $52,000 and $62,000 , based on experience.
Health and Dental:
100% company-paid health and dental insurance after a probation period.
Retirement:
A SIMPLE IRA
with a company match of up to 3% of your pay. Paid Time Off (PTO): 5 paid sick days per year. 5 paid days off after the first year, increasing to 10 after the second year, and 15 after the third year.
Paid Holidays:
