Control Systems Designer (Water/Wastewater)•

PLC/SCADA
systems, control panel design, field integration, and troubleshooting for municipalities and utility operators. Our reputation is built on responsiveness, technical expertise, and getting systems running when others can't. Role Overview We are looking for a Control Systems Designer to support our growing project workload. This role will work directly with our lead designer to execute control panel designs, electrical schematics, and submittal packages—primarily for water and wastewater applications. We use SkyCAD for our design software. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role best suited for someone who can take direction, move quickly, and produce clean, accurate designs. Key Responsibilities Develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts Assist with PLC I/O design and system architecture Produce submittal packages and drawing sets for customer approval Support updates and revisions based on field or customer feedback Work closely with internal team to translate project scope into design Help standardize and improve design templates and workflows over time Required Qualifications Experience with electrical CAD software (SkyCAD; AutoCAD Electrical or similar acceptable) Working knowledge of industrial control systems Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment Preferred Experience Experience with water/wastewater systems (lift stations, treatment plants, wells, etc.) Familiarity with: PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) HMIs and SCADA systems VFDs, instrumentation, and field devices Prior experience designing control panels for industrial or municipal applications Work Structure Hybrid/Remote; Texas-based candidates that can drive to office a few times a month highly preferred but not required Occasional in-person meeting What Success Looks Like Produces clean, accurate drawings with minimal rework Moves quickly on smaller projects without heavy oversight Communicates clearly and proactively with the team Helps reduce bottlenecks in design and submittal turnaround Why This Role Flexible, remote work with consistent project flow Opportunity to work on real infrastructure projects (not theoretical work) Direct exposure to field-driven design and practical engineering Potential to grow into a larger role as the company scales
