Job Title Lead Design Technology Specialist - AutoCAD Job Description We are seeking a Lead Design Technology Specialist to take charge of and elevate our CAD standards, drafting systems, and automation capabilities throughout the organization. This role is perfect for someone who combines deep expertise in AutoCAD with a systems-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have experience in building standards, understanding large-scale drawing production, and creating structure in a rapidly growing environment. You will lead the development of CAD standards, symbol libraries, and automation tools while supporting engineers and designers in delivering high-quality, consistent, and scalable drawing packages. Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of company-wide CAD standards and drafting best practices. Own and manage symbol libraries, title blocks, and drawing templates across all disciplines. Develop and maintain smart blocks, dynamic blocks, and scalable CAD libraries. Drive automation initiatives, including workflow optimization and repeatable design processes. Standardize drawing structures to support utility-scale solar and BESS projects. Utilize AutoCAD XRefs and Excel data links to improve consistency and efficiency across large drawing sets. Review drawing sets and workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements. Support engineers and designers by ensuring clarity, structure, and consistency in drafting outputs. Train and mentor team members on CAD standards, tools, and best practices. Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve design processes and delivery quality. Essential Skills 5+ years of advanced AutoCAD drafting experience in structured production environments. Proven experience in developing or managing CAD standards, templates, and libraries. Strong background in producing electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, or similar deliverables. Experience supporting utility-scale solar, BESS, or large infrastructure projects preferred. Deep expertise in block management, dynamic blocks, and drafting automation. Experience using XRefs and Excel data links in complex drawing environments. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inefficiencies and inconsistencies at a systems level. Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and leadership. Experience building or improving drafting workflows and processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic understanding of civil drawings or site plans preferred. Experience working in highly structured, shared CAD environments. Work Environment This role is based in a multi-disciplinary engineering office that offers the flexibility to work a hybrid remote schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maitland, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
