NAES is seeking a
P&ID CAD
Designer to support documentation projects through the creation and maintenance of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). This role focuses on converting field sketches, redlines, and photographs into clear, accurate CAD drawings in accordance with client and company standards. The CAD Designer will collaborate closely with CAD leadership, field teams, and subject matter experts to ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Develop and revise Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and related documentation based on field sketches, redlines, and photographs. Create clear, organized drawing layouts that accurately reflect field conditions and process flow. Ensure all drawings comply with established company and client drawing standards and documentation requirements. Review drawings for accuracy prior to submission to the CAD Team Supervisor for checking and approval. Coordinate with other designers to maintain drawing connectivity and consistency across project packages. Track assigned work and project status to support on-time delivery of documentation. Collaborate with field walkdown teams and internal subject matter experts to resolve discrepancies and technical questions. Learn and interpret unfamiliar equipment and systems to accurately document plant processes. Prepare drawing packages for internal review and client submittal.
Job Requirements :
Proficiency in AutoCAD, including the development of P&IDs from field sketches and redlines. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, flow diagrams, and engineering documentation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal teams and supervisors. Education /
Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technically related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, five (5) years of relevant experience may be substituted. Minimum two (2) years of experience using AutoCAD in a technical or industrial environment. Experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D (P&ID module). Prior experience supporting power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities.
