Job Description

Company Overview Triple J Coil Tubing Products, LLC is a Houston-based manufacturer specializing in coiled tubing equipment and wellhead products for the oil & gas industry. Our engineering team designs and delivers precision mechanical solutions across wellhead, coiled tubing, and construction environments. We are growing and looking for experienced designers to contribute to high-impact projects from concept through production. Role Summary As a SolidWorks Designer, you will own the creation of 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation for mechanical components and assemblies used in oil & gas and industrial applications. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to take designs from concept to manufacturable reality, with a focus on precision, compliance with ASME and API standards, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Develop comprehensive 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with ASME codes, GD&T standards, and project specifications. Design mechanical components and assemblies for wellhead systems and coiled tubing applications per API 6A and applicable industry standards. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate conceptual designs into precise, manufacturable mechanical systems. Produce technical documentation including schematics, assembly instructions, BOM (bill of materials), and 2D layout drawings to support manufacturing and construction. Apply GD&T principles to ensure manufacturing specifications are accurate, clear, and achievable on the shop floor. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional SolidWorks experience in mechanical design, assembly modeling, and technical drafting. Demonstrated experience with API 6A Wellhead Specifications and Coiled Tubing design. Strong working knowledge of GD&T standards and ASME codes for precision manufacturing. Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical schematics and system design documents accurately. Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional team collaboration and technical documentation. Mechanical knowledge applicable to oil & gas, construction, or industrial manufacturing environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Creo (formerly Pro/ENGINEER) or Autodesk Inventor. Background in pressure-containing equipment design or upstream oil & gas manufacturing.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
