CAD Operator/Draftsmen will be responsible for drafting in CAD Softwares, or similar programs. The Drafter will produce drawings, sketches, and diagrams for various types of telecommunications permits, including DOT permits, railroad permits, municipal permits, and power pole permits. Job Responsibilities Drafting commercial and residential telecommunication plans using programs such as AutoCAD Utilize CAD mapping software to create and edit telecom plant designs Preparing and filing necessary paperwork to aid in the construction of projects Working and coordinating with a team to build complete plans for larger areas Updating plans based on feedback, standard changes, or revisions Review 'red-line' changes and interface mapping system with continuing property records in a relational database Create as-built staking sheets, schematics, permits, service order drawings, and any other CAD drawings, maps or CAD records work Ensure that all drafting assignments are completed on time, to a high level of quality, legible, easy to decipher, and adhere to industry-accepted drafting standards. Respond to design changes or needed revisions with a high degree of urgency. Coordinate with the OSP Engineers, Designers, and other stakeholders to fully understand permitting needs. Promptly communicate all challenges, obstacles, and variances to Supervisor. Qualifications/Skills Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite Attention to detail Time management Ability to multi-task Interpersonal Communication At least 1 year of telecommunications drafting experience - or - 2 years of general drafting experience preferred. Previous experience with telecommunications-related permitting is preferred. Hands-on experience with AutoCAD. Experience utilizing GIS data is preferred. Strong computer skills. Good math skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to learn and adapt. High degree of critical thinking, communication, accountability, analytical thinking, and collaboration. Ability to multi-task. Resourceful and analytical with excellent communication skills. Technical training in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent work experience is preferred Must be proficient in mapping software and be familiar with relational databases Proficient in Windows operating system environment with working knowledge of Microsoft office software Ability to read and understand DOT maps preferred Previous working knowledge with various permitting municipalities and requirement preferred Preferred Telecom experience but not required Commitment to support all company policies.
