Construction Drafter / Detailer

Job Summary Built Exteriors is seeking a Project Drafter / Detailer with strong AutoCAD skills to support commercial exterior projects. This position is responsible for producing accurate 2D shop drawings, revisions, and submittals for scopes such as sheet metal, ACM panels, masonry, stucco, and waterproofing. We are looking for someone who can work with a high degree of accuracy, coordinate with project teams, and help keep projects moving. Responsibilities Use AutoCAD to prepare accurate 2D shop drawings, details, revisions, and related drafting documents Review plans, specifications, addenda, and project requirements Develop and revise shop drawings for assigned scopes Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and internal teams Track drawing revisions, submittals, and approvals Help identify drawing conflicts, missing information, and constructability concerns Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation Support company drafting standards, workflows, and quality expectations Depending on experience, assist with mentoring junior staff or reviewing work prepared by others Qualifications Strong AutoCAD proficiency required Experience in commercial construction drafting or detailing Shop drawing experience preferred Exterior envelope or specialty subcontractor experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Pay Pay starts at $25.00 per hour, with higher pay considered for candidates with relevant experience, stronger technical skills, and the ability to work more independently.
