Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Drafting Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, schematics, and system designs that support the development and construction of complex cabinets and products made with engineered wood, HDPE, phenolic, and other materials. Our facility is highly automized to give you plenty of opportunitys to grow. Your expertise will ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards and client specifications, contributing to the successful execution of engineering initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge CAD software and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to bring concepts to life with accuracy and clarity. Duties Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Microvellum to ensure compliance with project requirements. Create comprehensive schematics and system designs that accurately represent mechanical components and assemblies. Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to specify tolerances and ensure manufacturability of parts. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design specifications and translate them into precise technical drawings. Conduct design reviews. Support construction teams by providing detailed assembly instructions, technical documentation, and revisions as needed. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including Microvellum. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, system design processes, and construction practices. Experience with schematics development, assembly modeling, technical writing, and 2D animation for visual communication. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately while adhering to industry best practices. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and documenting design processes clearly.
