Job Description

We're looking for an Entry-Level Chemical/ Process Engineer to join our Advanced Facilities Electronics Team in Tempe, AZ. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for our clients; such as working on state-of-the-art projects, implementing, modifying, and maintaining process designs, while assisting with the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications. In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you will develop flow diagrams, perform sizing calculations for pipe and equipment, and develop process specifications. We'll rely on you to assist activities ensuring that design and construction conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements. You will build technical skills by utilizing software such as PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam, and SmartPlant. This position requies you to be results-driven, client-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a strong work ethic. You'll take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team. Your ability to manage your time and responsibilities effectively while maintaining a high standard work product will be instrumental in delivering successful project outcomes. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering Previous Process Engineering Internship experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel Experience with of ASPEN,AutCoAD, MATLAB, Python, SQL Ability to work 3+ days per week at the Jacobs Portland, OR office or client site Ideally, you will also have Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or on track to obtain Ability to work within the Unites States without the need for sponsorship, now or anytime in the future Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
