About the Role We are hiring an exceptionally talented and motivated Process Engineer/Senior Process Engineer to lead the optimization and scale-up of our proprietary water-borne bio-based polymer coating from the pilot-scale to commercial-scale. Key Responsibilities Own process development end-to-end from lab to pilot to commercial scale-up Design and execute experiments to optimize processes for polymer synthesis and water-borne polymer processing across multiple scales Lead development of comprehensive technical documentation including process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams Analyze, interpret, and translate process data into technology transfer packages Lead scale-up through collaboration with external partners across synthesis, processing, and coating Drive continuous improvement of processes to increase efficiency, quality, and reproducibility Assist with process data collection and reporting for environmental and life cycle assessment Collaborate with innovation team to develop and validate analytical methods to monitor process performance Collaborate cross-functionally with innovation, product, and business teams to continuously integrate R D developments into process scale-up and production strategy Qualifications B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and minimum of 5 years of experience in process scale-up Strong hands-on track record of leading process development, optimization, and validation from lab to pilot to commercial Proven ability to successfully scale polymer systems, with preferred experience in water-borne/water-dispersed/emulsion systems in coatings, adhesives, or related fields Proven ability to analyze and integrate complex process data and workflows into technical packages and troubleshoot complex technical challenges Proven ability to work quicky, iteratively, and collaboratively and interest in working in fast-paced start-up
