The Lead Process Control Engineer supports plant operationsPLC/SCADA
infrastructure, and provides expertise on various capital and process improvement projects. This position will be responsible for interfacing with stakeholders including engineering, production, maintenance, utilities, IT, environmental, safety, management, and contractors. This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday, with off-shift on-call support responsibilities that is shared amongst the controls group.Position Responsibilities:
Work securely within thePLC/SCADA
environment to support plant operations. Update and develop new graphics within theSCADA GE
iFix and Ignition HMI applications. Work with and improve/optimize existing site standards in ladder logic, function block, sequential function charts, and structured text programming using RSLogix-based tools and Ignition. Support Ethernet-based network infrastructure. Troubleshoot and installation support for actuated valves, instruments, various process equipment, remote I/O panels, SCADA servers & workstations. Troubleshoot and installation support for variable frequency drives. Review of engineering design documents for capital and internal projects. Oversight of controls aspects of new construction and commissioning activities. Follow design, project management, and document control standards. Work with Process Engineers to understand the plant operational and functional requirements and provide practical solutions for meeting these needs. Manage the PI data historian tag list, graphical displays, and reports. Work with operations to identify Process Control inefficiencies and risks and prioritize the work to ensure long-term reliability of our systems. Provide red-line drawings for as-built representation of work completed. Complete any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, or a related field, preferred. 10+ years of experience as a process control engineer in a chemical, mining, petroleum, or heavy industrial setting. Experience with leading a small team of junior and senior engineers. Must be authorized to work in the United States. A Valid Driver s License and good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on the property. Demonstrated experience and competence in Rockwell Automation programming platforms. Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives, and instrumentation wiring diagrams. Job requires full-time onsite commitment.Desired Qualities:
Work experience with Ignition (Perspective), OSI Pi. Ability to configure and commission Rockwell variable frequency drives in a ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Ethernet environment. Hands-on experience with heavy industrial equipment troubleshooting. Experience with process optimization/tuning of closed-loop control systems.
