Job Description

Job Title:
Senior Process Engineer Overview The Senior Process Engineer leads the design, specification, and commissioning of complex chemical processes and pilot plants handling hazardous materials. This role combines hands‑on plant support with advanced process modeling, automation integration, and close collaboration within a small, cross‑functional engineering team supporting mission‑critical programs. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain P&IDs and process documentation
  • Define process equipment specifications and data sheets for reactors, vessels, pumps, and heat exchangers
  • Specify process instrumentation and support control strategy development
  • Lead pilot plant design, commissioning, and test production runs
  • Analyze pilot and production data to improve safety, yield, and reliability
  • Use Aspen Plus or similar tools to model and optimize batch and continuous processes
  • Support hazardous material process design, safety reviews, and operations
  • Collaborate closely with automation, mechanical, and plant engineering teams
  • Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement Required Qualifications
  • Proven process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or related industries
  • Hands‑on experience designing and commissioning plant or pilot systems
  • Strong background working with hazardous or high‑hazard materials, or analogous regulated environments
  • Proficiency with P&IDs, process equipment specifications, and instrumentation
  • Experience with batch and continuous flow processes
  • Familiarity with modular or skid‑mounted process systems
  • Proficiency with Aspen Plus or similar process simulation software
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills Preferred Experience
  • Chemical Engineering degree or related discipline
  • Experience with energetics, explosives, pharmaceuticals, or petroleum processes
  • Pilot plant scale‑up and transition to production
  • Mentoring junior engineers
  • Working with advanced process monitoring and automation systems Work Environment and Benefits

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $150000.00/yr. 401k Match 100% health insurance paid + premium for dependents Extended Flex Time Potential Hybrid flexibility 9/80 or 4/10 schedule Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Littleton,CO.
