Job Description PURPOSE:
As a Process Engineer you will be part of a dynamic technical team driving manufacturing efficiency and productivity in a plant environment. You will apply Engineering principles to technical projects while researching and finding innovative and cost-effective means to improve safety, quality, and delivery.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides engineering leadership in efforts to maintain process control and improve quality Analyzes manufacturing processes to identify and execute improvements utilizing lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies Monitor and control equipment to improve production Supports production to ensure attainment of business goals, working directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure consistent process operations Investigate and resolve casting defects (e.g., porosity, inclusions, runouts, shrinkage) Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods Manages specification, selection and execution of major capital and tooling acquisitions in order to drive technology improvements that positively impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Inventory. Ensures all work is in compliance with environmental, health and safety standards, industry specifications, customer requirements, company standards and related specificationsSPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma Tools, at minimum a willingness to learn and apply the tools. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective communication skills communication: Listening, Verbal and Written. Understanding of material engineering Self-motivated, data-driven problem solver with a proven track record of process improvement. Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science Knowledge of investment casting technology, processes and manufacturing methods are preferable. 3-5 years related experience preferred Strong statistical process control knowledge All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
