Learn how you can start or jumpstart your career with us. Scale-Up Process Engineer | Qnity Build the bridge from lab to full-scale manufacturing. Qnity is seeking an experienced Scale-Up Process Engineer to join our interdisciplinary Process Chemistry & Engineering team within the Engineering Science and Analytical organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in scaling and commercializing next-generation electronic materials, moving innovative chemistry from bench and pilot scale into reliable, commercial manufacturing. If you thrive at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, and hands-on execution-and enjoy solving real-world scale-up challenges-this is an opportunity to make a measurable impact across Qnity's portfolio. Your Key Responsibilities Process Development & Scale-Up + Design and develop robust, scalable unit operations to enable commercialization of electronic materials + Generate technology packages for seamless transfer to integrated manufacturing or third-party tollers + Characterize process variables and define operating boundaries through basic data generation + Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges by scaling problems down to the lab and back up again Pilot Plant & Lab Operations + Prove out optimized processes at pilot scale, using reactor systems up to 100 gallons + Work hands-on in lab and pilot facilities 50%+ of the time, turning theory into practice + Support business needs by meeting material demand for customer qualifications + Flexibly support group projects, including occasional extended shifts when required Safety & Risk Management + Actively participate in Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) for new equipment + Critically evaluate existing operations to engineer safety and performance improvements + Safely conduct operations involving hazardous chemicals Capital Projects & Execution + Lead implementation of new capabilities and unit operations + Deliver results on aggressive project timelines with a strong execution mindset Your Qualification Profile Technical Expertise + Strong chemical engineering fundamentals in batch processes, including Formulation, Filtration, Crystallization, Distillation, Drying + Mechanical aptitude and creativity in Process piping, Equipment design, Controls and electrical systems + Experience with hazardous operations and safe work practices + Background in electronic materials is a strong plus Qualifications + BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline + 7+ years of industrial experience + Proven ability to deliver complex projects under tight timelines + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously + Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams Why Qnity?
