at Carollo Engineers in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Overview Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm specializing in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. Carollo's Water Applied Research Center (Water ARC®) provides nationwide, process-based research and applied engineering expertise for municipal and private-sector clients across drinking water, wastewater, reuse, and infrastructure applications. Water ARC® services span laboratory and field-based testing, pilot and demonstration studies, and the development of innovative tools that bridge research and consulting practice. Carollo is seeking a staff- to mid-level Process Engineer whose role will be split between leading Water ARC® initiatives-primarily the I-FLOAT® off-gas testing program and supporting wastewater process engineering consulting projects across the firm. Approximately 50-60% of this position will be dedicated to applied research activities, with a strong emphasis on leading and growing the I-FLOAT® program and field-based testing. The remaining 40-50% of the role will support a variety of wastewater process engineering and consulting efforts, depending on business needs and the individual's expertise. I-FLOAT®, developed within Water ARC®, is Carollo's internally developed off-gas testing solution designed to lower the logistical and cost barriers associated with off-gas testing, enabling broader deployment across WRRFs. Through I-FLOAT®, Carollo is expanding the industry's ability to quantify real-world oxygen transfer performance and emissions (e.g., N2O, CO2), improve aeration design and operation, and support emerging needs related to quantify greenhouse gas emissions factors.
