Senior Molding / Process Engineer The Senior Molding / Process Engineer develops, optimizes, and sustains molding processes for LSR and HCR rubber products using injection, compression, and transfer molding. This role focuses on improving process stability, cycle time, scrap reduction, and overall efficiency, while supporting production, tooling, quality, and new product launches. Key Responsibilities Develop, validate, and optimize molding processes for LSR and HCR materials Apply scientific molding principles to establish and maintain robust process parameters Perform DOE and process capability studies (Cp/Cpk) to reduce variation and improve quality Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for molding issues such as flash, short shots, cure variation, and dimensional defects Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools (5 Why, 8D, Fishbone) Create and maintain process documentation, parameter sheets, and work instructions Train and coach operators and technicians on best practices and process discipline Collaborate with tooling, maintenance, and NPI teams on mold design, trials, qualification, and production readiness Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, improve OEE, and optimize material usage Use SPC and data analysis tools to monitor and stabilize processes Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincolnshire, IL.
