JOB SUMMARY
This position will assist in Pfanstiehl's critical improvement projects that span Pfanstiehl's Business, Financial, Technology and Operational functional areas. The improvement projects include establishment and implementation of new processes and systems that help modernize and drive efficiencies as well as assemble and organize critical data and information to be utilized in new systems and processes. The Business & Operations Improvement Intern is a business or operations focused individual who thrives in a dynamic, self-learning and heavy workload environment supporting and improving daily operations, projects and departments. This hands-on role builds skills in business improvement and optimization, project execution and management, professional communication, , and Microsoft Office Suite, preparing students for business, business administration and operational improvement careers.
Key Responsibilities Include:
LEADING AND ASSISTING IN IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Execute and assist in diverse improvement projects across Pfanstiehl's business, financial, operational and technology functional areas
Data Entry & Reporting:
Compile data, update systems, and create reports or presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.
Project Leadership and Assistance:
Support team initiatives, conduct research and data gathering, and help document business processes and improvement/optimization initiatives.
Administrative Support:
Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and maintain records. Assesses and monitors effectiveness of new improvement systems and processes Supports existing operations in the recommendation of process optimization strategies and hands-on implementation of process improvements. Prepares and communicates recommendations and obtains approval to proceed with respective action plans.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Manages projects and meets deadlines Facilitates the definition of a project scope with internal customers Develops procedures and standards. Coordinates with support personnel to conduct prototype or experimental runs of products or processes. Performs tasks such as writing Requests for CAPEX projects, safety/quality checklists, scope documents, etc. Authors and reviews document change control for SOPs Provides training on systems for users
ORGANIZATIONAL INTERFACE
Interfaces with inter-organizational and outside vendor contacts. Conveys information effectively through formal and informal documents with team members, designers, technicians, and other technical personnel, using appropriate communication protocols, e.g. develops proposals; conducts reviews; provides audience targeted content; prepares project summaries and design documentation. Establishes networks. Follows through on project goals; contributes willingly and incorporates the ideas of others; shares resources, knowledge, and accountability to benefit the objectives of the business, e.g. participates in team meetings; serves as a functional expert in cross-project design review. Builds relationships. Initiates and cultivates open, honest relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors by establishing rapport, developing an understanding of others' needs, promoting common goals, and following through on commitments, e.g. offers assistance; interacts effectively with stakeholders at appropriate levels of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Studying towards Business, Operations, and/or Technology Degrees or closely related disciplines. Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors. Exercises judgment and advises management as to the appropriate actions. Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators. Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations. Works well with other engineers and functions in a collaborative, fast-paced goal-driven environment. Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.

Thinks creatively and works collaboratively in solving problems Physical Requirements Must have good hearing and sight - adequate for safety programs in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing of stairs, use of computer monitor screen, talking, writing, listening Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or occasionally lift up to 35 lbs. Pay:
$22.00 - $22.50 per hour Application Question(s): Must be fully vaccinated for Covid -19.
