Job Description

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the safety, efficiency, and quality of Marion molding processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Start-up, operation, and optimization of Boy 22, 55, and 90-ton injection molding presses and support equipment. Establish the BEST process for items on Boy machines that meet the customer's expectations and company efficiency requirements. This process will take into account plastic melt temperature, mold surface temperature, and overall cycle at a minimum. Able to document and monitor a repeatable process that will be considered a LOCKED process. Can find root causes of process variations and bring them under control or troubleshoot mechanical breakdown. Knowledgeable with basic hydraulic and electric systems to be able to identify equipment malfunctions. Perform all product changeovers in the molding operation including mold pulls and sets on the Boy 22, 55, and 90-ton machines. Maintains inventory of spare molds and spare parts for molds Perform minor in-house mold maintenance and cleaning when required. Available 24/7 for troubleshooting or product changes as required. Develop and maintain a Preventive Maintenance plan and ensure the Boy equipment and the support equipment stay in excellent running condition. Train other technical associates to set up operate and troubleshoot the Boy equipment. Insure all GMP guidelines are followed
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of hands-on experience with 22-ton to 90-ton injection molding machines. A technical / plastics degree is a definite plus. Experience in sampling and start-up of new products and new molds Understanding of industrial hydraulics and electrical. Able to read schematics and blueprints. Training in RJG decoupled molding is a plus.

Be able to work with hot parts or equipment Must be able to work in a dusty area while wearing proper safety gear Must be able to work with oil and grease Must be able to work at heights Must be on their feet all day; standing, stooping, squatting, and reaching can be expected along with lifting up to 50 lbs. of machinery and parts
Quality Standards:
Must comply with all plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF).
Safety:
Proper use of all safety equipment (i.e., proper use of personal protective gear including hair net, beard net, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses) Proactive approach to safety and accident avoidance Maintain proper safety standards according to established Sanitary and Housekeeping Practices (GMP Compliance). Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
