Opportunity:
This role offers the chance to work in a specialty chemicals manufacturing environment producing solvents, intermediates, specialty fuels, and other custom products. The team operates in a collaborative, family‑style culture with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. In this position, you'll play a key role in optimizing plant processes, supporting new product implementation, and driving site performance through engineering leadership and data‑driven improvements. As The Process Engineer You Will... Drive continuous improvement across production processes, procedures, and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all environmental, health, and safety requirements. Lead and participate in MOCs, PHAs, PSSRs, root cause investigations, and startup readiness reviews. Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned chemistries, technologies, or unit operations. Analyze production and quality data to improve cycle time, yield, cost, and first‑pass quality. Support implementation and scale‑up of new products and processes. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and utilities to improve equipment reliability and OEE. Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training documentation. Support capital and reliability projects, including commissioning and startup activities. Assist production and utilities teams with troubleshooting and technical support as needed. As The Process Engineer You Should Have... Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 5+ years of engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. Hands‑on experience with batch processes and control systems; experience with hazardous chemicals preferred. Strong knowledge of PSM practices including MOC, PHA, and PSSR. Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and project execution. Lean Six Sigma experience preferred; Green or Black Belt a plus. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills. Comfortable working closely with operations, shown ability to influence without authority. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
