Senior Foundry Engineer - ($120-150k Base Salary + Meaningful Equity) Atlantic Partners Boston, MA Job Details Full-time $120,000 - $150,000 a year 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork Machine design Master's degree Bachelor's degree Industrial equipment Full Job Description The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Foundry Engineer with 5+ years of experience (or equivalent hands-on depth) to own the development and scale-up of nickel superalloy investment casting — we are a fast-moving startup rebuilding America's most critical manufacturing supply chains. This is a rare opportunity to be the first true foundry expert on a small, elite team, bringing institutional casting knowledge that the rest of the team simply doesn't have. You'll have direct influence over equipment selection, process architecture, and the design of our next production facility — with no legacy bureaucracy in the way. We need someone who has poured metal, worked the foundry floor, and knows what it takes to hit aerospace specs — not just someone who has observed from the sidelines. If you're energized by the idea of reviving a dying industry and building something that matters for national security, this role is for you. What will you be doing? Own the development of nickel superalloy investment casting processes — from melt practice and shell interaction through solidification, inspection, and defect elimination — establishing our high-temperature casting capability from the ground up. Source and commission critical foundry equipment (including a vacuum induction melter and downstream inspection tooling) for our new Billerica, MA facility, applying your hands-on experience to make the right build/buy decisions. Work closely with the shell engineering and metallurgy teams on the full foundry stack, and collaborate with the software team to encode foundry knowledge and design rules into our AI-driven Foundry OS. Drive process development toward AS9100 quality certification and production readiness for flight-critical aerospace hardware, interfacing directly with major prime customers like RTX and Lockheed Martin. Partner with the CEO and CTO to design our next-generation 60,000 sq ft production facility — defining what the ideal automated foundry process looks like and helping turn artisanal casting knowledge into repeatable engineering. The Company Our client builds fully automated investment casting foundries producing precision metal castings for the US aerospace and defense industry — helping restore American manufacturing at a time when demand is skyrocketing and supply is critically short. Backed by RTX Group (Raytheon/Pratt & Whitney/Collins) and Lockheed Martin with a clear path to AS9100 certification and flight-part production — this is a rare chance to own a critical capability at a well-capitalized startup that's already shipping parts. Senior Foundry Engineer role reporting to the CTO — you'll own nickel superalloy casting process development end-to-end and directly shape equipment selection and the design of our first full-scale production facility.
