Injection Molding Spherion Staffing Injection Molding North Dartmouth, MA Apply Injection Molding Set Up Technician Job Overview:
The Injection Molding Set Up Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining molding machines and related equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality molded products. This role supports production goals by maintaining process consistency, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.Responsibilities:
Set up, start-up and operate injection molding machines according to production schedules and specifications to produce plastic components. Install, set up and tear down molds (mold changes). Installing molds onto machine platens, connecting water lines, and setting up auxiliary equipment (robots, dryers). Monitor injection mold machine and robotic automation performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production efficiency and product quality. Address defects like short shots, flash, or sink marks, and refine processes to reduce scrap and improve efficiency. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment (dryers, thermolators). Monitor production quality using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers), conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with blueprints. Record process parameters, mold changes, and production data accurately. Remove completed production and work orders off the production floor into Warehouse. Mixing materials according to work orders Grinding scrap runners Follow establishedISO 9000
standards and quality control procedures. Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles. Adhere to all safety protocols and promote safe work practices within the team. Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately. Other duties as required to support a successful operation.Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in injection molding or manufacturing is a plus. At least 2 years of experience operating injection molding machines preferred.Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of injection molding processes, including operation. Familiarity with mold installation, alignment, and removal procedures. Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, schematics, specifications. Attention to detail for monitoring product quality and identifying defects. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Proficient in using hand tools and hoists.
