Job Description:
EDAC Labs is developing a new class of electrochemistry systems that support circularity and decarbonization applications. EDAC Labs technology, which was created in Professor Chao Wang's lab at the Johns Hopkins University School of Engineering, was supported by R D grants from
ARPA-E. EDAC
Labs work in e-waste recycling is supported by the
NSF-STRIDE
Ventures Tech Metal Transformation Challenge. EDAC Labs is further supported by a $3M pre-seed funding round led by the Grantham Foundation. EDAC Labs seeks an electrochemical engineer with significant experience in battery chemistry who will help us to develop, optimize, and scale up electrochemical cells to support a variety of new applications.
Core requirements:
2+ years of work/research experience in electrochemistry, battery systems, or related fields. Hands-on experience with non-aqueous electrochemical systems involving metal plating/stripping (e.g., lithium metal or similar systems). Strong understanding of interfacial phenomena (e.g., passivation layers, dendrite formation, surface reactions). Experience with electrochemical testing methods (e.g., cycling, CV, EIS) and interpreting results. Ability to independently design, run, and troubleshoot experiments.
