Job Description

Senior Licensing Engineer
DUTIES:
Assist in the manufacturing support and construction reviews for new plants. Respond to inquiries from Licensee concerning operational issues which they face during project execution of their project. Help Licensee plan startup and commission activities Support Engineering Reviews and participate in HAZOP. Reviews during Basic Engineering Design or Detailed Design Assist in new plant commissioning and startup. Create punch-list items of needed corrections. Review startup and operating procedures. Review safety procedures. Provide on-site operator training as necessary. Perform process control logic checks. Provide shift coverage as necessary for the initial operation of the plant. Assist Licensee in carrying out the warranty test runs. Assist existing licensee related to troubleshooting or performance improvement activities and provide technical guidance to other team members. Response to inquiries from licensees concern existing plant operational issues. Assist during new catalyst trials. Provide on-site support for troubleshooting or to improve operational performance. Assist in the development of Process Design Packages and provide technical guidance to other team members.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, or Engineering (majoring in Chemical Engineering) or closely related discipline and three (3) years of experience in the job or as a Process Engineer within the specialty chemical industry, working in the licensing group responsible for preparing process design packages and process equipment design for new plants.

Experience in Process Design Package (PDP), Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Engineering, and PMC phases. Proficiency with process engineering software including HYSYS, Flarenet, Instrucalc, HTRI, AutoCAD, hydraulic calculation tools, and pipeline simulators. Experience preparing process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, Heat and Material Balances, datasheets, hydraulic and depressurization calculations, surge analysis, and control valve sizing. Ability to develop design philosophies, basis of design, process descriptions, technical reports, and control and safeguarding narratives. Experience with UNIPOL gas-phase polymerization technology for polyethylene and polypropylene, including process design, plant modifications, optimization, troubleshooting, and start-up support. Knowledge of engineering studies for technology improvements and plant capacity expansion, including safety and model reviews and construction support.
