Saint-Gobain, has a newly created career opportunity for a Process Control Manager to be based at our Hagerstown plant in Williamsport, MD. This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of process engineering and process control strategy for the vinyl siding production process at the Williamsport, MD plant. The incumbent is accountable for process stability, capability, throughput, and cost performance by reducing process variation, implementing robust control strategies, and driving automation and standardization. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with Manufacturing, R D, Central Engineering, Product Management, and other critical functional areas to deliver on key organizational objectives with a specific focus on process control.
Essential Functions:
Process Engineering & Control Own and lead the Process Engineering function at the site, including engineers and technical specialists. Define and sustain process control strategies (SPC, CTQs, control plans) to reduce variation and improve yield and throughput. Lead process design, scale‑up, and optimization for new and existing vinyl siding products. Serve as the technical owner for process capability, equipment performance, and operating windows. Automation & Digital Enablement Lead process automation and inline inspection engineering, in partnership with Central Engineering. Implement and sustain process data systems in MES, including real‑time dashboards focused on process health and capability. Drive digital standardization of process parameters, alarms, and response plans. Operational Excellence Drive cost reduction and productivity improvements through process optimization and waste elimination. Lead structured root cause analysis of process failures and implement preventive engineering controls. Validation & Change Management Execute process and equipment validation activities to demonstrate capability and readiness. Lead process-related change management, including risk assessment, trials, and controlled implementation. Ensure process documentation, visual controls, and operator work instructions are technically robust and current. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical discipline is required Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred 10+ Years of Quality or Process Engineering in a manufacturing environment #LI-KM1 Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $102.000 to $158.000 per year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $115,260 to $178,540. Bonus payments are part of the variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
