Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Process Launch Engineer to manage the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes within our expanding production environment. This person will collaborate closely with design, engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure a smooth and successful launch. Duties Develop comprehensive project schedules for new process implementations, ensuring timely delivery and resource allocation Conduct root cause analysis on process issues to identify underlying problems and implement effective corrective actions Design and review schematics, CAD drawings (using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo), and industrial equipment layouts to support process setup Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, robotics, and vision inspection systems to optimize automation Lead the setup and calibration of plastics injection molding machines, CNC equipment, welding stations, and fabrication tools Collaborate with manufacturing teams to establish lean manufacturing practices that enhance efficiency and reduce waste Create detailed process documentation including schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAM programming files for machining operations Oversee factory experience activities such as assembly line integration, tooling setup, industrial engineering assessments, and continuous improvement projects Ensure compliance with
ISO 9001
standards by maintaining accurate records of process validation, inspections, and quality control measures Support the development of mechanical knowledge across teams by providing training on industrial equipment operation and safety protocols Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar field preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Proven experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a production facility environment. Experience with powdered metals is a plus. Strong background in CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Kaizen Ability to perform root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
