  • Monday through Friday On-site role Additional hours as needed to support production and launches Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to support machining operations through process development, CNC programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives .
This role is highly engaged with the production floor, working closely with operators and leadership to optimize processes, reduce scrap, and improve overall efficiency . The ideal candidate has strong experience in CNC machining (lathes and mills) and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll OwnCNC Machining & Process Development Set up, program, and optimize CNC lathes and mills
Perform:
tool changes and touch-offs chuck changes and jaw cutting work offset setup and adjustments CNC program creation and edits Develop and improve machining processes to meet: quality standards cycle time targets production efficiency goals Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Diagnose and resolve machining issues including: tool breakage chatter surface finish defects runout issues workholding challenges Implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve consistency GD&T & Quality Support Apply GD&T principles to ensure part accuracy and compliance
Perform:
capability studies prototype runs sample production orders Support quality initiatives and ensure process stability Production Engagement Perform daily Gemba walks across assigned work centers Analyze downtime trends and identify root causes Participate in production meetings and support cross-functional teams Assist in training: machine operators team leaders Scrap Reduction & Continuous Improvement Generate and analyze scrap reports by work center Lead and support plant-wide scrap reduction initiatives Develop and implement action plans to eliminate top scrap drivers Monitor effectiveness of improvement actions Process Documentation & Training Create and maintain: process procedures setup sheets training documentation Develop detailed setup and training books for production teams Define standardized procedures for machine changeovers Production Line Analysis Conduct takt time and cycle time studies Compare real-time production performance vs. quoted expectations Identify opportunities to improve: throughput labor utilization process efficiency QualificationsRequired Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR equivalent hands-on experience 3+ years of experience in CNC machining and process engineering Strong experience with: CNC lathes and mills (setup & programming) machining processes and best practices Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Understanding of GD&T and precision machining requirements
