Position Overview We are seeking a highly capable CNC Programmer / Process Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss-style lathes. This role is responsible for programming, optimizing machining processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring production efficiency. Our Grand Rapids facility operates with Esprit CAD/CAM software and features: (1) Citizen L20 Type 8 (3) Citizen L20 Type 10s (2) Citizen L32 Type 12s (1) Nakamura-Tome JX200 The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for continuous improvement, working proactively to refine and enhance machining processes to maximize productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality. Key Responsibilities Program and set up Swiss CNC lathes using Esprit software. Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase operational effectiveness. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings. Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for complex components. Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime. Train and support machine operators, increasing their competency and knowledge to improve overall team effectiveness. Provide hands-on assistance to operators when needed, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently. Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure compliance with aerospace and medical industry standards. Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss CNC lathes. Proficiency in Esprit CAD/CAM software. Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining principles. Experience with aerospace and medical manufacturing requirements.
