Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CNC Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you must have the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for process development, specifically with CNC Machines, while learning the operations of aerospace and industrial gas turbine manufacturing. Duties Fully develop and prove CNC programs for new products on 5-axis CBN Grinders and Mills in accordance to customers' requirements. Establish documented CNC process plans, including step-by-step instructions, tooling requirements, and machining parameters as required. Identify risks and develop mitigation plans. Collaborate with production, quality, engineering teammates, and with customers to optimize tooling, manufacturing processes, assembly, and testing/inspections. Uphold ownership in supporting day-to-day machining operations. This includes but is not limited to serving as a technical liaison for production, operating CNC equipment as needed, and performing machine set ups. Handwrite complex G&M programs with utilization of macros. Verify the completeness and accuracy of CNC programs. Revise programs as necessary to enhance efficiency and ensure quality. Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), First Article Inspection Report (FAI) and fixed processes. Ability to resolve unforeseen and challenging issues in a timely fashion. Track and share lessons learned with team members for continual improvement. Supports the growth of employee training by offering assistance as needed. Develop a strong professional relationship with co-workers. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional team environments. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and Qualifications:
Formal technical schooling in Manufacturing, CNC Machining, CAD, Automation or equivalent. Must be proficient in G&M Code programming with the ability to troubleshoot, edit, prove out processes, perform first piece runs, and recommend changes to programs on multi-axis machine tools proficiently. Experience with macro programing required. Experience with aerospace and/or industrial gas turbine manufacturing. Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T). Multi-axis CNC milling, CBN, and Creep Feed Grinding experience preferred. 3-5 years' experience in super alloy machining environments preferred. Strong understanding of mechanics, math, and engineering principles. Strong Technical Communication. Project Management skills. Strong ability in blueprint reading and interpretation. Excellent time management in the face of multiple time sensitive projects. Applicants with the required and demonstrated skill sets without formal schooling may be considered.
