Location:
St Louis, MO About the role An established, mission‑driven manufacturing organisation is seeking a Process Engineer with strong experience in oral solid dose manufacturing to support and improve core production processes. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on making manufacturing processes consistent, efficient, compliant, and scalable . You'll be the go‑to technical expert for production processes, supporting existing products and enabling smooth new product introductions. If you enjoy solving real manufacturing problems, standardising how things are done, and working closely with production, quality, and R&D teams, this role will suit you well. What you'll be doing As the site's process expert, you will: Own and standardise manufacturing processes to improve robustness, compliance, safety, and efficiency Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations when processes don't perform as expected Improve existing oral solid dose processes, particularly powder handling, granulation, and compression Monitor process performance using data from the shop floor and turn it into practical improvements Develop and maintain clear process documentation and training materials to meet regulatory requirements Support new product development by advising R&D on manufacturable, compliant process designs Play a key role in transferring new products from development into full‑scale production Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, waste reduction) Act as a subject‑matter expert, supporting production teams through training and technical guidance What we're looking for
Essential:
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar 5-7 years' experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharma, biotech, or similar) Strong oral solid dose experience (powder processing, granulation, compression) Proven experience improving and standardising manufacturing processes Comfortable working cross‑functionally with production, quality, and R&D teams
Desirable:
Experience with extrusion, liquids, or pastes Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma tools Experience supporting new product launches or technology transfer Background in FDA or GMP‑regulated environments
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
