Job Description

About the Role Marcal Paper is seeking a Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reducing waste, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent analytical skills, and experience supporting industrial manufacturing operations. This role works cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and cost performance. Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Optimization & Continuous Improvement Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved throughput, and reduced operating costs. Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), focusing on uptime, speed, and waste reduction. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues. Develop and implement continuous improvement projects that enhance productivity, quality, and reliability. Support Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives. Engineering & Technical Support Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and equipment. Create and maintain process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical specifications, and process documentation. Utilize process simulations, data analysis, and performance metrics to evaluate manufacturing operations. Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, and Quality teams to troubleshoot equipment and process issues. Recommend equipment modifications and capital improvements to improve plant performance. Safety, Quality & Compliance Ensure all processes comply with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and quality standards. Participate in risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain process controls and best practices to support consistent product quality. Assist with investigations related to process deviations, equipment failures, and quality concerns. Maintenance & Plant Support Support maintenance planning and reliability initiatives for critical process equipment. Provide technical guidance during equipment repairs, shutdowns, and plant improvement projects. Participate in on-call support and occasional off-hours troubleshooting as needed to support plant operations. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 3+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or a similar role within an industrial manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience utilizing data analysis to drive operational improvements. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Experience in paper, pulp, packaging, tissue, converting, chemical processing, food manufacturing, or other continuous manufacturing environments. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with process simulation software, CAD software, and manufacturing data systems. Knowledge of OEE tracking, process capability analysis, and statistical process control. Physical Requirements Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift materials as needed. Comfortable working around machinery, noise, dust, temperature variations, and other industrial conditions. Ability to respond to occasional after-hours operational needs or emergency situations. Pay:
$135,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
