Year Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a top process manufacturing client. This individual will lead fluid system design and execution efforts, supporting pumping systems, pipelines, tanks, and instrumentation across capital and operational projects. The role partners closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective project delivery while supporting expansion and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on engineering role with strong visibility and growth opportunity.
Day-to-Day:
Design and implement fluid processes including pumps, pipelines, and tanks Select and ensure compatibility of materials (hoses, valves, filters, strainers, fittings, heat exchangers) Configure liquid storage tanks with heating, insulation, and measurement systems Manage and support instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature Support packaging line performance and throughput metrics Participate in testing, installation, commissioning, and startup activities Assist with capital project execution (scope, schedule, budget) Coordinate with vendors and contractors Develop and maintain engineering standards and procedures
Must-Haves:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field 5-8 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment Strong background with fluid systems (pumping, pipelines, tanks) Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and Plant 3D Experience with instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature) Comfortable traveling up to 25% Strong communication skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments
Plusses:
Experience in chemical or petroleum manufacturing Capital project management experience Exposure to packaging line throughput metrics Experience developing or enforcing engineering standards Background in cost-reduction or expansion initiatives
