Material Scientist / Materials Engineer (Process, R D, or Thermal Focus)

Type:
Contract-to-Hire We're hiring multiple Material Scientists / Materials Engineers to support a cutting-edge program with a leading advanced manufacturing and nuclear technology company. This team is building a first-of-its-kind manufacturing process from the ground up , focused on developing and scaling next-generation materials into full production. This is not a maintenance role - you'll be part of a hands-on, early-stage environment helping bring new technology to life.
What You'll Be Doing:
Depending on your background, responsibilities may include: Supporting development and scale-up of advanced material manufacturing processes Running experiments, analyzing data, and improving process performance Working hands-on with production or pilot line equipment to ensure quality and consistency Troubleshooting process issues and implementing improvements Collaborating with cross-functional engineering and operations teams Supporting commissioning and startup of new equipment and processes
We're Looking For:
Background in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field Experience in process development, manufacturing, or R D environments Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments Experience with process improvement tools (DOE, SPC, etc.) is a plus Exposure to high-precision or regulated industries (nuclear, semiconductor, aerospace, etc.) is helpful but not required
Compensation:
$50-$75/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
