Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a SEM Process Technician to support a leading semiconductor client in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for performing detailed imaging and compositional analysis of semiconductor devices using advanced electron microscopy tools. Responsibilities include collecting, preparing, and analyzing nanoscale samples, operating SEM tools to capture high-resolution images, and utilizing EDX to evaluate material composition. The technician will manage incoming sample queues, perform precise sample preparation including cleaving and chemical highlighting, and communicate analytical results to engineering teams. This individual will also support the development and optimization of analysis techniques, assist in training new users on equipment and procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within SEM operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a cleanroom environment under a compressed work schedule.   • 2-4 years of semiconductor or related industry experience in SEM-based failure analysis or metrology
  • Experience preparing and handling small samples (less than 5mm) using tweezers under a microscope
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and document nanoscale imaging data
  • Ability to work a 12-hour compressed shift (day or night) Bachelor's degree in Physical Science or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience with Hitachi SEM systems
  • Background in failure analysis or CAD layout interpretation
  • Experience in semiconductor, biological, or medical imaging environments
  • Experience with process optimization or technique development
  • Cleanroom manufacturing experience
