Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Chemical Engineering Intern to join our team for a hands-on experience in our metal surface treatments division. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and skills in chemical engineering within the context of aerospace and defense technologies.Essential Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and optimizing metal surface treatment processes. Collaborate with experienced engineers to improve existing methods. Investigate new techniques for enhancing surface properties.Chemical Etching:
Understanding the chemical reactions involved.Electroplating:
Learning about electrodeposition processes.Anodizing:
Exploring oxidation-based surface treatments.Passivation:
Studying methods to prevent corrosion.Coating Applications:
Familiarizing yourself with coatings like paints, enamels, and protective films. Conduct Periodic Testing and wet chemistry titrations and dilutions. Analyze samples using laboratory equipment such as pH meters, XRF metal analyzer, spectrometer, hydrometer, microscopes, thermometers, and centrifuge. Validate treatment processes by analyzing results and ensuring consistency. Collaborate with quality assurance and control teams to maintain high standards. Prepare technical reports on tests, findings, and process improvements. Document process parameters, safety protocols, and best practices. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including materials scientists, production engineers, and technicians. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge.Position Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in chemical engineering or a related field. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with basic chemical principles and laboratory techniques. Proficiency in using tools like CAD software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools.
