In the electrical insulation industry, the journey began with the production of semi-finished sheet, rod, and custom profiles. Since then, we have diversified into servicing other industrial sectors such as ballistics, corrosion, thermal insulation, and other custom needs. We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer at our South Euclid, OH facility. We are looking for a self-starter eager to assist us with the design and implementation of equipment as well as the continuous improvement of existing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate in the design, development, and implementation of new composite formulations, processes, and procedures. Evaluate manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, materials, and soliciting observations from production operators. Design and implement processes and recommend improvements. Test new raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Perform cost savings and new technology development activities. Assist in the research and proposals of new equipment or equipment modifications. Ensure all new designs are compliant with relevant regulatory requirements. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning process flow. Work closely with production and support personnel to solve critical process issues, as well as develop and optimize processes. Utilize engineering knowledge to reduce variations in manufacturing processes and improve operating efficiency. Implement opportunities for continuous improvement. Develop innovative solutions and recommend new manufacturing technology. Interact with the sales team and customers to understand performance criteria, review prints, and ensure the best solution to meet the needs of the customer.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
Process Engineer with 0-5 years' experience. Strong aptitude in problem solving using critical and analytical thinking. Strong verbal and written communication and technical writing skills. Ability to work in a team environment and under direct supervision. Possess detail-oriented and organizational skills with the ability to work on clearly defined projects. Flexibility to work various shifts to accommodate and support production. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD.
Education Requirements:
B.S. Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
