Job Description:
Microchip Technology is looking for a qualified Principal Process Engineer (Thin Films/CMP) working the day shift who will sustain and improve Fab-4 Thin Films/Chemical Mechanical Polishing processes. Perform tests to improve yield and reliability, qualify new processes/equipment, improve cycle time, and reduce cost Analyze, summarize and communicate test results Support critical quality systems: PFMEA, SPC, MPSP, MSA, and Sustaining Change Control Troubleshoot equipment and process problems Rework and disposition non-conforming product lots Write process specifications and reports Support Production as required Knowledge of basic statistics is preferred
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree - Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or related discipline 10+ years of experience in Semiconductor
CVD/PVD/CMP
process engineering Proficiency in written and oral communication Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills Initiative to work independently and keep projects on schedule Proven reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality a must Preferred Qualifications Strong background in chemistry Semiconductor technology and/or manufacturing experience Special Requirements Must work on site 5 days a week during standard first shift hours (Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM or similar). Flexible work schedule for occasional training and project support

Able to lift, push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 50 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing. Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors, dust or gases. This is a Safety Sensitive Position .
