The Laird research group at Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to support data analysis, application development, and research objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
Advancing capabilities in optimization-based conceptual design for new process development and improved process understanding. Development of open-source tools for training and optimization of machine learning surrogates. Interacting with multiple faculty members within the department, as well as industrial and federal project sponsors. Other duties as assigned. Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong creativity Ability to work in a collaborative research environment Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering or related field required. 1-3 years of experience in process systems engineering and/or bioprocess modeling A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
