Job Title:
Control System Engineer Job Description The Control System Engineer is responsible for developing engineering designs, performing engineering reviews, and configuring and testing Control Systems to meet code, contract, and schedule requirements for projects. The role primarily focuses on Control Systems related to large frame industrial gas turbines in simple cycle and/or combined cycle operations with Steam Turbines. Additional responsibilities include customer training and providing both remote and on-site support. Responsibilities Collaborate with applications, estimation, and sales groups in developing new business proposals. Design and review new design concepts and assist in developing new control systems. Maintain and modify existing control systems. Collaborate with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers, sales & marketing, and other internal staff. Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, project management, and other relevant authorities within cost and time-constrained environments. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards of the country in which work is undertaken. Develop RFQs for purchasing equipment. Configure Control System HMI and Database. Support manufacturing and inspection of control systems including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs). Support Field Operations in performing on-site installation of control systems. Provide start-up commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting support for equipment failures, determine root cause analysis, and implement solutions. Prepare and submit accurate reports regarding conditions, required actions, and obtained results. Travel overnight (at least 10%) by land and/or air. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of related experience. Experience with Control Logic and/or Control Panel Design. Proficiency in EPlan, Programming, PLC, DCS, UL508A, NFPA, NERC, HMI, Control Logic. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic knowledge in networking concepts. Experience with Control System, PLC, or other DCS. Familiarity with USA/International codes and standards such asUL508A, NFPA 70 & 79A, CSA C22.1, IEC -1, NEMA.
Knowledge in industrial Control Systems Cyber Security requirements such as NERC CIP and IEC. Experience with Control System and Panels design, including equipment selection, layout, and I/O Module selection. Control System retrofit experience. Knowledge of computer programming languages such as C# or Visual Basic .Net.EPLAN:
Experience with Electric P8 and Pro Panel software. Working knowledge of power plants process, operation, control system design. Experience with HMI Graphic Creating Tools and High-Performance Graphics. Experience with Control Logic programming using Function Block Diagram and Control narrative preparation. Work Environment Multi-disciplined office with roughly 12 other control systems engineers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
